This week’s stitch on TAST 2013 challenge by SharonB is raised herringbone band. I had attempted this stitch before on earlier TAST challenge. This time around, some variations were made on the basic satin stitches. My experiments of this stitch-

Details-
1.After working the satin stitches as blocks, zigzag and thin, herringbone stitches were worked over them, the last one has Cretan stitch worked between herringbone stitch.

Rimjim thread and satin threads were used for lacing the first few samples. French knots were worked on the last band.

2.I tried some shapes with satin stitches, the herringbone stitches are worked over them.

This is a very simple stitch. But required three steps, so I worked small samples.
