6. Lacing and Threading sticthes

This week was quite productive. A few samples for this month’s Beyond TAST were worked yesterday. The next challenge starts, this could be an easy one. Posting the details of the worked SSS challenge stitches is still pending.
After completing the mirror work on violet tunic, the flower colour was chosen for the Kashmiri embroidery on cream tussar tunic. It is peach. The stitches were worked on the sleeves first.

From this Friday it is a long holiday till 25th Saturday. The next weekend is packed with our traditional religious activities. Wondering whether there will be any time left for stitching!

I had started working on this challenge, but it was not easy for me. After keeping it aside for a while, the sampler was started again.
Today’s explorations started with 3 rows of back stitch. lacing was done on these rows.

The second sample is similar lacing to the first one, except the first row was buttonhole stitch.
BTAST18-6-5
The third sample has weaving stitch between two chain stitches in red variegated thread.
BTAST18-6-6
Started this sample with two rows of arrowhead variation.
BTAST18-6-7
The lacing was over these stitches. It looks like detached herringbone stitch though.
BTAST18-6-7a
After working two rows of arrowhead stitches, cross stitches were worked in the centre.
BTAST18-6-8
The lacing was done passing through the arrowhead stitches and cross stitches.
BTAST18-6-9
Two rows of herringbone stitches were worked one over the other, small straight stitches were worked to keep the crossing lines in place. The lacing was done in two journeys- left to right and right to left.BTAST18-6-9a
