In this week’s chart on randje per week 2016 challenge, we have a border. The chart is here. It was hard to accommodate the letter ’Z’ on last week’s chart. So the letter comes with a border. It was definitely a change of routine on this challenge. It was not necessary to look at the chart every now and then, as in the case of working the alphabets. But it took the same time to work the border like the previous weeks, when there were just the alphabets. I am still wondering about this.

The randje per week challenge chart of the week was completed on Saturday. The TAST challenge break will last till 16th August.
Kutchwork Cream tunic with kalamkari patch
Another motif was completed during this week. The pattern is such that, the working on each motif is continuous. Actually I started my kutchwork lesson with the simplest version of this motif. Though it is repetitive, it is also relaxing. But have decided to work one motif per week.
Pink kutch border tunic
This week, another tunic which was sewn earlier took my fancy. So yesterday, a small kutch work border was started below the woven border. Will there be any embellishments such as mirrors or beads? This is still undecided. Thought will go with the flow of the work and decide later.
The other kutch work border on green fabric was ignored this week.
There was a kasuti embroidery pattern which gave rise to an idea of a kutchwork pattern. The possibilities are being explored.
Mirror work
The block printed white fabric was picked up from the tailor. It has blue borders around the neck and sleeves. I am happy with his work. The size of the mirror needs to be chosen.
The beige fabric is given to the tailor for marking. The design for sleeves and tunic front was drawn on graph paper. This may not be a small project, with 172 mirrors. Implementing to work a small project seems moving further away.
I am linking these blogs.

This Alphabet is completed except for the letter ’Z’ on this week’s chart on RPW 2016 challenge. The chart is available here. I like this bold font.

The Randje per week 2016 chart was completed on Saturday. SharonB has announced a break of 4 weeks on TAST challenge. The next challenge stitch will be on 16th August. Though I am not working all the stitches during this challenge, it is nice to see the different possibilities of the stitches created by other members.
There are some blogs which host weekly link of the works in progress. We can link our blog weekly to that post. It is interesting and motivating to see the works of other people. These links are more for quilters. This is one such blog where we can post our embroidery works too. Super Mom!
Kutchwork Cream tunic with kalamkari patch
I completed two motif patterns on this project. Three more to go in the first phase.
Sometimes while browsing for inspiration, the choices are so many that even after completing a project a longing is there to improvise. This time, while looking at the design for sleeves for this tunic project, an urge to add another design element came to mind. So some changes were made. Hoping to control these urges, at this rate, none of the projects will get completed, and even if they do, the satisfaction may not be there.
White tunic with majenta kutchwork on green
Keeping aside the brown piece for a while, the kutchwork on this green fabric was started. Yes it is the same green fabric from the chikan work tunic. This is continuous border design for sleeves.
Gota patti
This is my friend’s tunic project. The design was completed during this week. And my friend traced them on to the fabric.
Mirror work
While looking for inspiration from this book ’3,000 decorative patterns of the Ancient World’ a small geometrical design seemed apt for a mirror work embroidery. The fabric is hand loom cotton.
This is another soft cotton block printed fabric. The tunic design is to create a combo with this fabric and another white block printed fabric. It is with the tailor, the mirror work embroidery around the neck will commence after that. The main idea is to work a small project, all other projects are time consuming

We are continuing the same alphabet on this week’s chart on RPW2016 challenge. The chart is on their blog.
Today, other than taking breaks in between, I also took an effort to integrate each and every letter before working on it. This helped in gaining focus and led to more concentration. For example, the chart for the letter ’K’, in my opinion, needed a small adjustment, which could be done without increasing the area.

This week’s randje per week was completed on Saturday without much fuss. I was feeling tired looking and working at the charts. This week, taking small breaks helped. This week’s TAST 2016 has two stitches- looped cretan stitch and the beaded version. The link to the samples was posted on FB group page.
Lemon green chikan work tunic was completed this week. It’ll go to the tailor during this week for sewing. The embroidery details and pattern will be posted on this blog after the tunic is sewn.
Kutchwork Cream tunic with kalamkari patch
I have five motif repeats to work on this project. This is a part of the motif. This will be big project in two phases.
They all are to be worked in three strands of the same red colour anchor skein.
Still in the process of drawing a yoke and sleeves border for gota patti work for my friend.
This week the Marash embroidery designs were more in mind than in actual paper. Sometimes, they are about using the old Marash embroidery seen on pinterest, and at other times they are about adapting other forms of embroidery to this interlacing stitch. At this time, mind seems amazed at the different possibilities. Hoping for a more productive work during this week.

We have another set of alphabets starting from today. It’s a delightful set. The chart is on RPW2016 blog.
After one week of reconciliation to the fact that it is wearing to work looking at the chart for each and every stitch, working on today’s chart was not very bad. Took small breaks in between to give rest to the eyes and rearranged some things. This helped in not getting tired, whether the rearrangements were useful, it remains to be seen.
