2019 projects

Just as expected, I couldn’t spend much time on my stitching. But it was not household work, but other things which were not conducive for stitching.

My brother’s health is not good. he had a mild Heart attack a few days ago. He needs surgery.
I restarted the blue thread on flowers on this cotton navy tunic. Just a few flowers were worked.

The same colour thread is used for working more double running stitches. Drawing and tracing the design took a long time on this fabric for white printed mull tunic, the stitching definitely would take a long time too.

If the stitching work is minimum this week, it wouldn’t be a surprise.

This past few days have been good stitch wise. The SSS challenge looks inviting week by week. I do have to set aside some time for this challenge. I lost tracking Beyond TAST for few weeks, really need to check are there any stitches which were not worked before.
Changing the colour of kutchwork on black yoke was completed. Luckily a mangalagiri fabric may go well with this yoke. A black fabric can also be sewn along with it.

After completing the stems, a different blue thread was used to work the border around the neck. My friend is not sure about this colour, let me see.

The neutral colour tussar work is still going off and on. This is a part of one completed sleeve. The other sleeve needs to be worked now.

The black work design on bluish green yoke for printed mull tunic was started with the colours from the fabric print, after this white thread will be used predominantly

The next few days, it seems I might be busy with other house work, so next week’s progress may not be much.

This week went with the works on tunics.
I am still in the mode of changing the colours of the kutchwork black yoke. The blue colour was changed to yellow. This project was restarted with changing the blue colour, somehow green preceded it. I have started with changing the blue on the other side today.
WIPW220-blaykk-4
After filling with blue thread on this gold neckline, I started working isolated fly stitch variation with green novelty thread.

Now that I am getting more friendly with my computer, I would like to post the details of the finished projects of this year.

New monitor was set up on Monday. Images copied from hard disk yesterday. Today I am organisng the folders.
Now for the works in progress in embroidery.
The old kutchwork yoke looked like this before I started removing the beads, sequins and changing the colour.
WIPW219-blaykk-3
It looks like this now, the next step is to replace blue with yellow.
WIPW219-blaykk-2
The front of the neutral tussar silk tunic is being worked now with zardosi beads, pearl beads and sequins.
WIPW219-neutusstz-6
The leaves and stems were worked on the panels of the cream silk cotton fabric for this cream chiffon tunic. Now the progress is on the flowers.
WIPW219-creabluts-5
The neckline embroidery for the printed blue crepe tunic is quite slow, still started with the dark blue thread.

This past week was quite progressive, did some catching up with old UFO’s

This week was a productive one, stitch wise. I went to the mode of working on wearables a while go. There were so many ideas which were picked from so many places. These ideas have the tendency to vanish after a given time. The inspirations also kept on increasing, it became difficult to bring back the creative thoughts of the time when they started.
After deciding to put  into form at least the ones which were fresh in mind, I started on the projects. It is an exciting experience, with my computer still in dormant stage, the projects seem to be grow.
While working on this week’s projects, my friend wanted to work a chain stitch with metallic thread around her blouse neckline, which was started yesterday.

This mirror work yoke technically got completed, still with the monitor to be set up, it is added in work in progress post.
WIPW218-greeyerm-4
After working green on this navy tunic, blue colour was started. Maybe I will work another green and then move onto blue again. This project will take more time than I thought.
WIPW218-ncotka-4
This tunic is printed soft cotton with plain fabric for salwar. Certain cross stitch designs worked with white thread resemble lace. The idea seems good. But the designs will be bolder for this tunic. Designing work yet to commence for this project.
WIPW218 wgtct-1
This yoke was worked few years ago. The colour looked good when it was worked, but didn’t feel good after it was completed. It was lying idle all this time. Maybe it will look better if the colours are changed. This work started with replacing light green with deeper green.
WIPW218-blaykk-1
I have also been drawing some chikan work embroidery designs. Today found some patterns which were drawn last year. They look so different now. Some mirrorwork designs also there. Interesting week so far. The SSS challenge is having so many new stitches, if they aren’t learnt soon, I might get lost. Downloading pictures are also a problem now. The situation might improve next week!

Still the computer monitor is yet to be connected. Eagerly waiting for the big screen to work with. The old one was really slow. And had its own mind.
Started the mirror work on this combo tunic. The markings were not properly placed I suppose, have to rectify it.

The embroidery on this navy soft cotton started with green thread. This being Kashmiri embroidery, It is chain stitch all over.DSC08475

Embroidery was started on this golden yellow fabric for the printed crepe tunic. The colours are chosen from the prints on the tunic. Silk thread is used to work the satin stitches in the centre.WIPW217-bpcretfse-3

Starting new projects was quite exciting. Some yoke designs were also drawn on paper for future projects

My PC is being replaced by another one. Still Waiting for the monitor to be set up. This period I am taking a break from Internet. I could have used the phone, but did not.
The stitch challenges are still to be worked. There are many interesting stitches on SSS challenge, but the projects take most of the time. Being summer[very hot for the past few days] the silk fabrics are set aside and cotton fabrics are getting attention.
The towel edgings were completed.
The old dark red yoke which was started a few weeks ago, went to the tailor after attaching the mirrors on it.

The sewn tunic looks like this, I had thought he would stitch around the shape of the yoke. It was not to be. So another few mirrors can be sewn on it. The markings of the mirror placements are done with white pencil.
DSC08505
This crepe silk fabric somehow came in the summer season awaiting attention.
DSC08410
A synthetic fabric [not sure whether it is satin] in gold is chosen to work the embroidery. The design is a border around the neckline.

When we were in India last month, I bought some fine cotton fabrics for tunics. This fabric is used for blouses for sarees. They come is so many colours. The first colour choice to work next project is navy blue.
DSC08471
I wanted to do this for my friend, she preferred a lighter colour. I had a dark blue tunic with floral machine embroidery in orange bought in Delhi a few decades ago. After deciding to use the same colour scheme on this tunic, a visit to the parlour changed that idea. The present colours are –

A medium size yoke pattern is drawn on paper.
That’s the progress during the week. This coming week should be a productive one.
