The working of this stitch is on SharonB’ s Pintangle. As a design experiment this stitch was worked on different shapes and curves on this fabric. Magenta was the main colour, beige and green were also added. The idea for this colour scheme was taken from an image on pinterest. Working this stitch as flower-
This stitch was worked on all the lines and shapes in magenta. Cotton skeins were used.
The next colour beige was used to work other stitches –zigzag chain, Algerian eye, quarter buttonhole, long tailed chain, buttonhole, detached chain, french knots.
Green threads for further building of stitches.
Though some stitch combinations were worked on this piece, it does not give full satisfaction. It may be any one of these reasons.
The design itself?
Drawing with stitches?
The combination is not interesting?
Tired?
Not being able to comprehend the reason?

We are thinking on the same lines as I am also working a circle with the alternating up and down buttonhole. I suspect it is the design that you do not like but also it needs, I think, another colour – an accent! Your stitching is beautiful.

Not sure if you were trying for a complete composition at the end or not… but the experimentation is all very interesting. Perhaps the straight and curvy elements are not pleasing together to your eye. I liked that you took progress photos, thanks!

You are so adventurous with your stitch samples. I like this one and agree with Diane that the progress shots are a good idea.
I like your ‘flower’ circle.

Thank you. I was trying my hand at something unrealistic, but was not satisfied with the end product. I take pictures of the progress, to learn from them.

You might not be satisfied with the result but I am amazed at what you have managed to do to this ‘bared wire’ stitch.
To me it was hard to keep even, but YOU have made some stunning flowers, beautiful garlands and with all stitches together I think the various samples are very pleasing. Maybe one more colour would let the eye move from seam to seam.

I saw your post on this stitch and your reference bared wire stitch. I did not even notice it was uneven, thought this stitch was like that! Thank you. And your input helps to see it from that angle . I was getting lost here.
