This tunic top was worked in 2013.
The tunic fabric was bought to match with the ready to wear Patiala salwar pant.

RPW 2016
This week’s chart on this cross stitch sampler challenge was completed on Sunday 15th may.
TAST 2016
This week’s stitches are fern stitch and the beaded version of fern stitch. These two have been worked earlier, the link to my blog needs to be posted on facebook group.

Cream and black chanderi tunic
Some progress was made on this small piece this week. The sequin were attached with silk thread. the stitch worked is different from the usual mirror stitch. Holding on to the sequin was easier and keeping the thread in its place was difficult. I thought differently when this work started.

This project was lying in a bag, till it was coordinated with a ready sewn Patiala.

I have another project to start. The fabric is with the tailor. This is black cotton fabric with threadwork border. The tailor will give the front piece of the tunic to be embroidered. More details next week.

The chained bars worked inside the paisley was outlined in linked chain stitch and the inner paisley was outlined in back stitch.

Thought the spaces between the chained bars required some attention. Stem stitch and arrow head stitches are worked here-

The zigzag chain stitch was worked in metallic thread in this part over diamond shapes worked in perle cotton.

Sequins are added in the end. The piece looks like this

It was interesting to work the sequins on this piece. Zigzag chain worked over ribbon was an idea which did not find any place in this piece.

I need to catch on the next TAST stitch, Paisley again? I wonder.
The studio journal class is on its third week, I am presently overwhelmed at the ideas presented by Sharon there, and having some starting troubles.

The length of this light brown yoke is 8 inches and the width is 3.75 inches
Rest of the details of the embroidery-
The two border lines are worked in stem stitch in dark green colour thread.

Small sequins with spikes are added in between the two stem stitched lines on the border. The same sequins are added in between the floral pattern.

I have worn this tunic many times , gives a festive look and being cotton, feels cool and comfortable for the hot and humid climate. With the zari border, gold jewellery makes a good accessory!

The embroidery on the maroon fabric for the brocade yoke was then embellished with sequins. That is the reason I used gold colour thread for the embroidery.

In the picture the background fabric is the tunic-

The brocade fabric is placed in the middle-

The completed embroidered border is also seen here-

the picture of the tunic is not available.

Last year I bought a few synthetic fabrics to be sewn as tunics. This is one of them.

The material was double coloured  chiffon. I had also bought some brocade fabric  at that time.

The idea was to embroider a small  u-shaped border pattern which will  go around the brocade yoke .

The tunic colour was a mixture of pink and maroon.

So the embroidery was done on maroon cloth. The colours used were pink and gold.
