Started with basic knotting over running stitch, decreased the length between the running stitches in the second sample.
The knots are worked over two rows of running stitches, the size of the knots is slightly bigger. In the fourth sample, the knots are worked alternatively over two running and single running stitch, again the knots are more prominent.
The running stitches are worked in an angle and the knots are worked over them in the first sample. The knots are worked over running stitch curve.
Are multiple knots possible over running stitch? This was tried in the first sample. Two rows of knotted running stitches are facing each other in the last sample.

I didn’t think this stitch would have any variations, but you have proved me wrong! I think I like the last variation best, the stitches give a nice wavy pattern.
